הוא סבור שיציאתנו לירושלים קרובה מאוד ואף מצביע על כיס מעילו שבו ישים את מפת ארץ־ישראל הענקית שלו, כשנרכב יחד לאורכה ולרוחבה של הארץ הקדושה. זו היתה אתמול המחווה הנאיבית ביותר והמשכנעת ביותר.

וזה הרי לא ימנע מאותם היהודים הלועגים עכשיו לדוֹן־קישוֹטיוּת שלי לומר עלי בבוא הזמן, כשתבוא הצלחה, שאני ספֶּקוּלנט ערמומי.
