12 Juli [1895] Für den Roman. Beschäftigung am Feierabend der Arbeiter. Sie üben Musik (Arbeiterkapellen). Hauptsache aber: jüdische National = Passionsspiele aus Alterthum (Makkabäer) u. Mittelalter. — Furcht, Mitleid, Stolz und Volkserziehung in Form einer Zerstreuung. Die Popularisirung des Liebhabertheaters der Vornehmen. Gibt hübsche Romankapitel, burleske Scenen der unschuldigen kleinen Cabotinage in jedem Ort. Circenses für sich selbst. Lehrer = Regisseure sahen Muster in der Hauptstadt. 13 Juli [1895]. Formen der Consequenz: (Beim Stelldichein) —Ich habe meinen Entschluss geändert und bin da. = Aber Sie wollten ja kommen. — Ja, das hatte ich mir zuerst überlegt.

אבל הדבר העיקרי: חזיונות־פּאסיון יהודיים לאומיים [על נושאים] מן הזמן העתיק (מכבים) ומימי־הביניים. פחד, רחמנות, גאולה וחינוך העם בדרך של בידור. 

פופולריזציה של תאטרון־החובבים של שכבת המעמד הגבוה. יהיו פרקים עליזים ברומן, סצֵנות בּוּרלֶסקיות של שחקני־רחוב תמימים בכל מקום.

מורים־במאים ראו דוגמה בעיר הבירה.
