Ihnen erkläre ich es jetzt als Geschäft — sie sollen mich nicht auch missverstehen, im Umgekehrten, u. mich nicht für einen „Unternehmer“ halten. Ihnen auch sagen, wie ich den immer gleichen Plan von einer anderen Seite für den Deutschen Kaiser darstellen will, mit der „Berittenmachung der  Selbsten?“. (xx) 14 August [1895] Güdemann hat telegraphisch angenommen. Er reist Freitag Früh nach München. Er möchte dass ich gleichzeitig, d. h. Freitag Abend dort eintreffe. Das will ich aber nicht. Meyer Cohn kommt erst Samstag, wird erst Samstag Nachmittag zur Unterredung zu haben sein. Ich will es vermeiden, vorher mit Güdemann zu reden und werde erst Samstag Vormittag in München eintreffen. Sie sollen vorerst miteinander sein, mich erwarten und namentlich Güdemann soll nicht mehr von der Reise müde sein, sondern erfrischt und munter. Die Schwierigkeit meines Vortrags wird sein, sie

Güdemann has wired me his acceptance. He will leave for Munich on Friday morning. He would like me to arrive there at the same time as he, i.e., Friday evening. But I don’t want to do this. Meyer-Cohn isn’t arriving until Saturday and won’t be available for a discussion before Saturday afternoon. I want to avoid talking to Güdemann before that, and so I shall not arrive in Munich until Saturday forenoon. They ought to be together first, wait for me; and Güdemann especially should no longer be tired from the trip, but rested and alert.

גידֶמן טִלגרף והודיע על הסכמה. הוא יוצא ביום שישי בבוקר למינכן. מבקש שגם אני אגיע לשם באותו זמן, כלומר ביום שישי בערב. אבל את זאת אינני רוצה. מאיֶר־כוֹהן יבוא רק בשבת, יהיה מוכן לשיחה רק בשבת אחר־הצהריים. אני רוצה להימנע מלשוחח תחילה עם גידֶמן ואגיע למינכן רק בשבת אחר־הצהריים. שייוועדו תחילה שניהם, יחכו לי, ורצוי שגידֶמן לא יהיה עוד עייף מן הנסיעה, אלא רענן וערני.
