Es kam auch die Anfrage vor, ob die Colonisten ge= sichert seien u. die Antwort lautete verneinend. Daran knüpfte ich an, als meine Sache zur Discussion kam. Ich wolle nur die Colonisirung, die wir mit unserer eigenen jüdischen Armee beschützen können. Gegen die Infiltration müsse ich auftreten. Die Bemühungen der Zionsvereine würde ich nicht stören, aber Edmund Rothschilds Sport müsse un= bedingt ein Ende nehmen. Er solle sich der nationalen Sache unterordnen  oder u. dann wäre ich nicht nur bereit ihm die höchste Stelle zu geben, sondern auch seinen Eintritt in die Leitung mit meinem Austritt zu bezahlen.

The question was asked whether the colonists were protected, and it was answered in the negative.

מישהו גם שאל אם המתיישבים מוגנים, והתשובה היתה שלילית.

קשרתי את דברַי לזה, כשהתחילו לדון בעניין שלי. אני רוצה אך ורק בהתיישבות שנוכל להגן עליה באמצעות הצבא היהודי שלנו עצמנו. חייב אני לצאת נגד ההסתננות. אין בכוונתי להפריע למאמצים של אגודות־ציון, אבל לספורט של אֶדמוּנד רוטשילד יש לשים קץ ויהי מה. שיקבל עליו את המרות של העניין הלאומי, ואז לא רק שאהיה מוכן לתת לו את העמדה הבכירה ביותר, אלא אף לשלם בפרישה מן ההנהגה תמורת כניסתו שלו.
