des Grandducs de Baden et de Hesse

à la faveur d’être reçu en audience

sans avoir pu l’obtenir. Maintenant

il l’a sollicitée par la voie

officielle en s’adressant à MM. de

Plehwe et Pobjedonoszow, qui probable=

ment verraient volontiers eux-mêmes

qu’un peu de calme pût renaître

parmi des désespérés. On ne laisse

pas 7 Millions de malheureux

dans la crainte d’être assassinés.

Some Jewish subjects in Y.M.’s Empire have requested the head of the Zionist Movement—Dr. Theodor Herzl—to beg an audience with their puissant Sovereign. Such an audience would bring hope and peace to restore a people driven wild with terror.

Mr. Herzl had previously been recommended, through the intercession of the Grand Dukes of Baden and Hesse, for the favor of being granted an audience, without having been able to obtain it. נתינים יהודים של קיסרות הוד רוממותו הפצירו בראש התנועה הציונית, הד״ר תיאודור הרצל, לבקש ריאיון אצל שליטם רם המעלה. קיומו של ריאיון כזה יפיח תקווה באוכלוסייה אחוזת בהלה מטרור וישרֶה עליה רגיעה.
