Je prie V[otre] E[xcellence] de remettre aussi (xx)

à S[a] M[ajesté] I[mpériale] mon livre qui lui fera peut-être

quelque plaisir.

Il y a une semaine que j’ai (xx) apporté

chez S[on] E[xcellence] Mahmud Nedym Bey mes lettres

de crédit pour 3 mill[ions] de francs valables jusqu’au 15 mai (sur

des banques de Paris, Londres et Berlin)

conformément à ma lettre du 22 février.

Voulant envoyer 200 L[ivres]t[ur]ques à une de

vos bonnes œuvres j’ai adressé cette

somme au comité du chemin de fer

de Hedjaz.

Il n’y a pas d’autres nouvelles depuis

ma dernière lettre et en me tenant

toujours à (xx) votre disposition

je prie V[otre] E[xcellence] d’agréer les expressions

de ma haute considération et de

mon dévouement

Gestern Abend schickte Mahmud

Nedim seinen Jäger zu mir: er

müsse heute absolut mit mir sprechen.

Heute V[or]M[ittag] war ich bei ihm. Er hatte

May I ask Y.E. also to transmit to H.I.M. my book, which will perhaps give him some pleasure.

A week ago I took to H.E. Mahmud Nedim Bey my letters of credit for 3 mill. francs, valid until May 15th (at banks in Paris, London, and Berlin), in conformance with my letter of February 22nd.

Wishing to send 200 Turkish pounds to one of your good causes, I have directed this sum to the Committee for the Hedjaz Railroad.

Begging Y.E. to accept the expression of my high regard and devotion,

Last night Mahmud Nedim sent his servant to me: he must definitely speak with me today.

This morning I went to see him.

עוד אני מבקש מהוד מעלתך, שתמסור להוד רוממותו הקיסרית את ספרי שאולי יסב לו קצת נחת רוח.

לפני שבוע הבאתי אל הוד מעלתו מַחמוּד נֶדים בֵּיי את מכתבי האשראי שלי על שלושה מיליוני פרנקים, שהם בתוקף עד 15 במאי (בבנקים בפאריס, בלונדון ובברלין) בהתאם למכתבי מ־22 בפברואר.

ברצותי לתרום את 200 הלירות הטורקיות לאחד ממפעליכם הראויים, שלחתי את הסכום לוועד מסילת הברזל החיג׳אזית.

אין עוד חדשות מאז מכתבי האחרון, ובהיותי תמיד לרשותכם,

הנני מבקש מהוד מעלתך להסכים לקבל את ביטויי הוקרתי הרבה ואת מסירותי.
