Nächste Woche rufe ich Beer, der zur Er=

richtung der Cement u. Ziegelfabrik nach

Palästina soll.

Auch ist gestern in mir die Idee aufge=

blitzt, eine Mittelmeer=Schiffsgesellschaft zu

kaufen, nämlich eine schlechtgehende, deren

Majorität billig zu haben u. die wir dann

saniren. Die „Adria“ in Fiume würde sich

dazu eignen, wie ich bei flüchtigem Blick

ins Börsenbuch sehe.

Lewontin hat auch die Idee, unsre die Jaffabank

zur Einkassirerin der Steuern und Zölle in

Palästina für die türkische Regierung zu

machen.

The controlling shares of the Jaffa railroad as well as of all enterprises will always have to remain in the possession of the Trust.

Yesterday another idea came to me in a flash: to buy a Mediterranean shipping company, that is, one that is not doing well, whose control can be had cheaply, and which we shall then reorganize. הון מניות של 500 אלף מרקים והתחלת העסקים בחמישים אחוז מן הסכום הזה. את המניות יקבל אוצר התיישבות היהודים וישמור אותן ברשותו, וימכור מעט מהן לאחר שיהיו רווחים.

רוב המניות של רכבת יפו, כמו של כל המפעלים, חייבות להישאר תמיד ברשות אוצר התיישבות היהודים.

בשבוע הבא אזמן את בֶּר, שיצא לארץ־ישראל להקמת בית־החרושת למלט וללבנים.

אתמול גם הבזיק בי הרעיון לרכוש חברת ספנות ים־תיכונית, כזו שעסקיה רעים דווקא, שאפשר לרכוש את רוב מניותיה בזול ושנבריא אותה. חברת "אדריה" מפיוּמֶה יכולה לבוא בחשבון, על־פי מה שראיתי במבט חטוף במדריך לבורסה.

לבונטין אף העלה את המחשבה להפוך את בנק־יפו שלנו לגובה המסים והמכסים בארץ־ישראל בשביל ממשלת טורקיה.
