Die ganze Londoner Sache ist am nächsten Tag

zusammengestürzt, weil ich meinen Eltern

davon sprach u. diese in grösste Aufregung

darüber geriethen. Sie wollen um keinen Preis

mitgehen. Wenn ich sie nicht noch auf

klügere Weise überrede, muss ich den ganzen

Plan aufgeben.

Gestern mit Alex Marmorek.

Er will sein Mittel gegen die Tuberculose

Reitlinger in Paris abtreten u. nur 50 % vom

Reinertrag bekommen, wofür weil Reitlinger 200.000

francs zur Verfügung stellt.

Ich sagte ihm, die Colonialbank könne das

an Reitlingers Stelle machen. Wenn Alex

den Vertragsentwurf von Reitlinger vorlegt,

sind wir u. ist er gedeckt gegen Recrimina=

tionen. Ich halte es für eine glänzende

Acquisition für unsre Bank. Die Shares

werden sofort hoch im Preise steigen, u.

The whole London project collapsed the next day, because I told my parents about it and they got terribly excited. They won’t come along at any price. If I don’t manage to persuade them in a shrewder way, I shall have to abandon the entire plan.

Yesterday with Alex Marmorek.

He wants to turn over his remedy for tuberculosis to Reitlinger in Paris and will settle for 50% of the net profits, because Reitlinger will make the 200,000 francs available.

I told him that the Colonial Trust could handle this instead of Reitlinger. If Alex presents Reitlinger’s draft contract, both we and he will be covered against recriminations. I consider it a splendid acquisition for our Bank.

כל עניין לונדון התמוטט למחרת היום, כי דיברתי עם הורי והם נסערו מאוד. בשום מחיר אין הם רוצים להצטרף אלי. אם לא יעלה בידי לרַצות אותם בדרך מחוכמת יותר, אצטרך לוותר על התוכנית בכלל.

אתמול [נפגשתי] עם אלכם מַרמוֹרֶק.

הוא רוצה להעביר את [הזכויות על] הנסיוב שלו נגד השחפת לרייטלינגֶר בפאריס ולקבל רק חמישים אחוז מן הרווח הנקי, כי רייטלינגֶר מעמיד לצורך העניין הזה 200 אלף פרנקים.

אמרתי לו שאוצר התיישבות היהודים יוכל לעשות זאת במקום רייטלינגֶר. אם יציג אלכס את טיוטת החוזה עם רייטלינגֶר, נהיה מכוסים, גם אנחנו וגם הוא, מפני טענות ומענות. לדעתי זאת רכישה נהדרת בשביל הבנק שלנו.
