Therapia 28 Juli [1902] Den Bericht des wie alles wunder= lichen gestrigen Tages mache ich später. Brief an den Sultan   Sire, j’ai l'honneur de soumettre à V[otre] M[ajesté] I[mpériale] le compte-rendu de l’entretien que j’avais hier avec Son Altesse le grandvezir. J’ai (xx) expliqué complétement à Son Altesse nos propositions. J’ai d[’]abord rappelé le fait (xx) que c’était le 11 juillet seulement que j’ai reçu de Son Excellence l’ambassadeur à Londres la communication des conditions désirées par V[otre] M[ajesté] I[mpériale]. L’invitation de me rendre à Constantinople que j’avais reçue la semaine précédente était accompagnée de l’instruction de ne parler à personne sur le but de mon voyage. Du 11 juillet jusqu’au 15 juillet, c’est à dire en 4 jours

Letter to the Sultan: 

 

Sire:

 

I have the honor to submit to Y.I.M. the report of the conversation that I had yesterday with His Highness the Grand Vizier.

 

I explained our proposals fully to His Highness. First, I recalled the fact that it was only on July 11 that I received from His Excellency the ambassador at London notification of the conditions desired by Y.I.M. The invitation to come to Constantinople, which I had received the preceding week, was accompanied by instructions not to speak to anyone about the purpose of my trip. Between July 11 and 15, that is to say, in four days,

אני מתכבד להגיש להוד רוממותו הקיסרית את הדין וחשבון על השיחה שהיתה לי אתמול עם הוד מעלתו הוואזיר הגדול.

הסברתי להוד מעלתו את הצעותינו במלואן. בתחילה הזכרתי את העובדה כי רק ב־11 ביולי קיבלתי מידי הוד מעלתו השגריר בלונדון את ההודעה בדבר התנאים הרצויים להוד רוממותו הקיסרית. ההזמנה לבוא לקושטא שקיבלתי שבוע קודם לכן לוּותה בהוראה שאל לי לשוחח עם איש על מטרת נסיעתי. מ־11 ביולי ועד 15 ביולי, כלומר בתוך ארבעה ימים
