„Ungeheure“ klingt ja grossartig! Aber

um was? Vorläufig nur um Zeichenformulare,

nicht um Shares. Ist das ein Truc des

kleinen Heyman oder wirklich der Beginn

Ich bin jetzt in einer jener Stimmungen,

in denen Faust mit dem Teufel jeden Pact

schliesst. Wer mir heute das Gelingen der

Subscription verspräche, dem würde ich

verkaufen.

An Wolffsohn schrieb ich zwar gestern, ich

hätte die Vorempfindung, die Subscription

בערב הגיעה עוד אחת, העושה רושם טוב, אבל אולי היא סתם קשקוש. כתוב בה:

"למרות עוינות בעיתונים ביקוש עצום כאן ובייחוד בפרובינציה לטופסי החתמה".

"ביקוש עצום" הרי נשמע נהדר! אבל ביקוש לְמה?

בינתיים רק לטפסים, לא למניות. האם זו תחבולה של היימן הקטן או שמא באמת תחילתה של הצלחה גדולה?

אני נתון עכשיו במצב רוח כמו של פאוסט המוכן לכרות כל הסכם שהוא עם השטן. מי שיבטיח לי היום את הצלחת ההחתמה אמכור לו מיד בעבור זה עשר שנים מחיי.

אמנם כתבתי לוולפסון אתמול שיש לי מעין הרגשה מוקדמת שההחתמה תעלה יפה – ואם אני טועה בכך, זו תהיה הטעות הראשונה ומן הסתם הקשה ביותר שטעיתי בתנועה הציונית.
