Dies hat den Zweck uns einen gesunden Grundstock von Pionnieren zu sichern. Die Ansiedlung wird nach den modernsten Principien erfolgen, die uns Wissen= schaft u. Erfahrung an die Hand geben. Das Capital der Company u. die Arbeit der sorgfältig ausgewählten ersten Ansiedler bilden nur den Anfang der Colonie. Im Uebrigen soll die politische Antriebskraft Wäre dies aber nur dies Alles, so bliebe auch diese Ansiedlung nur etwas Künstliches u. Geringfügiges, wie andere frühere Versuche der jüdischen Colonisation. Gross u. zukunftsvoll wird das Unternehmen durch die Gewährung der Colonialrechte. Das ist die gewaltige Attraction  

The purpose of this is to assure us of a sound core of pioneers.

 

The settlement will be made according to the most modem principles which science and experience furnish us.

 

The capital of the Company and the labor of the carefully selected first settlers will constitute only the beginning of the colony.

 

But if this were all, then this settlement too would only remain something artificial and trivial, like other, earlier attempts at Jewish colonization.

 

The undertaking will be made great and promising by the granting of colonial rights.

 הכוונה להבטיח לנו גלעין בריא של חלוצים. ההתיישבות תיעשה על־פי עקרונות מודרניים, בהסתמך על המדע ועל הניסיון.

ההון של ה־Company ועבודתם של המתיישבים שנבחרו בקפידה אינם אלא ראשיתה של המושבה.

אם נסתפק רק בכך, יישאר היישוב הזה עניין מלאכותי וקל־ערך, כמו נסיונות קודמים אחרים של ההתיישבות היהודית.

המפעל ישׂגה ועתידו יובטח הודות להענקת זכויות קולוניאליות.
