für Bloch u. andere bestimmungswidrige Ver=

wendungen der Spenden.

Darauf formulirte ich meine Fragen:

1.) Mit welchem Rechte hat die Allianz die

persönliche Freiheit der Auswanderer die nicht

nach eingeschränkt u. sie, die nicht zurück=

wollten, nach Rumänien zurückgeschickt?

2.) Mit welchem Rechte hat man die Spenden=

gelder für Anderes verwendet, als man im

Aufruf den Spendern sagte?

3.) Wo ist der Nachweis, dass den Repatriirten

ausreichende Unterstützungen gewährt wurden?

Denn ich hatte inzwischen auch die

Berufung des alten Buchhalters er=

zwungen, sowie die Vorlage der Bücher.

Die Herren Kuranda u. Katzau hatten

gesagt, der alte Mann werde wol bei

der Buchung des rumänischen Contos noch

im November stecke[n]. Nein, er war à jour.

Die Zahlung an Bloch stand schon im ru=

However, I turned the pages slowly; I looked for and found the questionable items: a subvention of 600 guilders for Bloch and other uses of the donations which were contrary to regulations.

Thereupon I formulated my questions as follows:

By what right did the Allianz restrict the personal freedom of the emigrants and send them back to Rumania although they did not want to go?

By what right were the contributions used for other things than what the donors were told about in the appeal?

Where is the proof that the repatriates were granted adequate support?

For in the meantime I had managed to get the old bookkeeper brought back, as well as to have the books produced.

Messieurs Kuranda and Katzau had said that the old man probably was still working on November in entering the Rumanian account. No, he was à jour [up to date]. The payment to Bloch was already entered in the Rumanian account.

טוב, שיַראו לי את ספר הקופה. בהיסוס הראו לי אותו. הד״ר קוּראנדָה, שעמד מאחורי, רצה לדפדף מהר. ואילו אני דפדפתי לאט־לאט ,חיפשתי ומצאתי את הרישומים המעוררים חשד: תמיכה של 600 גוּלדֶן בשביל בּלוֹך! ועוד שימוש בתרומות שלא על־פי התקנות. לפיכך ניסחתי את שאלותי:

באיזו זכות פגעה "אליאנץ" בחירות האישית של המהגרים והחזירה אותם לרומניה למרות רצונם?

2. באיזו זכות השתמשו בכספי התרומות לצרכים שונים מאלה שהודיעו עליהם בפנייה לתורמים?

3. היכן ההוכחות שנתנו עזרה מספקת לאלה שנשלחו חזרה?

בינתיים אילצתי אותם לקרוא למנהל החשבונות הזקן, וגם להציג את הספרים.

האדונים קוּראנדָה וקאצאוּ אמרו שהזקן בוודאי תקוע עדיין ברישום החשבונות הרומניים מנובמבר. לא, הוא היה à jour (מעודכן). התשלום לבּלוֹך כבר היה כלול בחשבון הרומני.
